Marcey Saeger came from a creative family...with lots of good art genes floating around. After graduating from college she thought she would use her creativity by going into Interior Design or Fashion Merchandising, ending up instead in sales. These selling years were extremely important to her development as a designer as they gave her a practical understanding of the marketplace and the trends and directions it took.
“I’ve always had a fascination with geometrics and with floral patterns, so I tried to combine them and it evolved into architectural style drawings. Candle Warmers were new to the market and I thought this type of design would work.” She submitted the designs, they were accepted and the collection led to many others.
Marcey’s work focuses on what she calls a whimsical “retro” look…somewhat funky, combining colors that were popular in the 70s and utilizing interesting shapes. As for the future, “I don’t really know where my abilities are leading yet…in a way the future is uncharted waters and so far I’m enjoying the trip.”
